JJ's on fire.....

Thursday 24th May 2018

Woodvales' 1st XI travelled to Lurgan tonight to play a 25 over re-arrangement and when they were asked to field first the fear would have been that they would be batting in bad light. So they hustled through their overs in quick time, restricting the home side to 119 in the process. The stand out figures were that of JJ Strydom who took 4 for 17 in his 5 overs (including a hat trick) and it would have been 4 wickets in 4 balls had he not overstepped the line.

So over to the Batsmen and it was JJ Strydom (94*) again who stepped up to the mark to smash the beleaguered Lurgan attack to all corners of the ground. His match winning 123 run partnership with David Connelly taking a mere 11.1 overs to polish of the most comprehensive of victories with the sun still splitting the trees.
