HNH Youth Cricket Academy

Monday 05th June 2017

Our Youth Cricket Academy for 2017 starts on Friday 2nd June between 6.30pm-8.00pm and will run for 12 weeks.

The Academy this year is kindly sponsored by HNH (Corporate Finance & Professional Services) and we are very grateful to them for their kind support.

The Academy has been run over the past two years we are keen to expand and build upon this and to ensure that as many young people as possible within the local community are given the opportunity to come along to see what we have to offer as their local cricket club.

The Cricket Academy is open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-16 and all abilities will be accommodated.

The cost of the Academy is once again £2.00 per session. Children taking part will become junior members of the Club. Children taking part in the Academy will be given a Junior Membership Consent Form which they will be asked to take home for their parents/guardians to complete and sign.

The main emphasis will be ensuring that the children have fun playing cricket and related activities. We want them all to have a positive experience and to feel welcome as part of the Club. It will provide an excellent opportunity for them to learn new skills, to make new friends and to get active.

There is absolutely no need for the children to have any previous cricket knowledge or experience. All necessary equipment will be provided. Those taking part will be required to wear suitable clothing i.e. tracksuit and trainers.

It is intended that the Academy will run even in bad weather with use being made of the Clubhouse and/or the synthetic pitch at Woodvale Park.

Woodvale Cricket Club has been a part of the local community for over 125 years and presently fields three adult teams playing in leagues and cup competitions organised by the Northern Cricket Union. We are proud of the fact that many of those who played cricket as children at the Club are now senior players, coaches and volunteers.

This year again a real effort is being made by the Club’s coaches and volunteers to introduce as many young people as possible to our fantastic sport.

The Club now has wonderful facilities which we feel are second to none in the entire Country and we wish to demonstrate to the children attending the Academy that cricket is a great sport and that there is nowhere better to play.

The Club’s Designated Person named in our Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy Statement is Pastor Jonathan Clarke (Email: reborn86@hotmail.co.uk) (Mobile: 07817543085).
We look forward to welcoming as many new and existing Junior Members to the Club to the 2017 HNH Youth Cricket Academy.
